Celebrities love nice cars. From movie stars to athletes, famous people have plenty of money to spend on crazy collections that showcase their wealth and status. We have a lot of amazing automobiles to discuss in this article, so fasten your seatbelt and let’s get started. NBA player LeBron James has had plenty of reasons to celebrate throughout his spectacular career. One of those reasons was the launch of his Nike LeBron XI and the King James Legacy sneakers. He even enlisted the talents of Lou La Vie, Rich B. Caliente, and Toys for Boys Miami to customize his specially-wrapped Lamborghini Aventador Roadster after the look of the liner in the “King’s Pride” XI shoe. This reportedly cost $670,000 total.
LeBron James and Chris Brown
Another customized Lamborghini Aventador belongs to singer/dancer Chris Brown, whose owned various versions of the sports car. From a “Hot Wheels” Lambo to a “Fighter Jet” Lambo, he likes his unique and personalized, which is why he decided to outdo himself with this camouflage Lambo. It was done by JC Customz, based off the Nike Foamposite One Fighter Jets, and the paint job alone cost $15,000.
Nicki Minaj and Rihanna
Not to be outdone, Nicki Minaj had her Lamborghini Aventador painted bright pink, which is arguably more daring than either of the previously seen customizations. She wanted to celebrate the launch of her Kmart clothing line. Even the Forgiato wheels match. And these aren’t the only celebs with this popular model, Rihanna also has one in classic red. But because of all the extra features, it’s actually the most expensive here at $750,000.
Mercedes 300SL Gullwing Coupe
Jay Leno is one of the most prolific and well known celebrity car collectors in the world. He owns around 286 vehicles, 169 cars and 117 motorcycles, that he shows off on his new TV show Jay Leno’s Garage. Of all the amazing models in his collection, one of the best is definitely his $1.8 million 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing Coupe. He bought it in less than great condition, having found it in the desert with no engine or transmission, but did a full restoration of the red racer.
The model was built with an innovative frame, fully independent suspension, a fuel-injected SOHC Six and gullwing doors. It was an actual race car, having been driven by John Fitch in the GT Class of the Mille Miglia. The two-seat SL coupe was the fastest production car of its day, and was later offered as an open roadster. It was built by Daimler-Benz AG and was based off their carbureted overhead cam straight 6 1952 racer, the W194.
The original owners just left it in a California storage container in the late 1970s. Leno found and purchased the classic car, and assessed the damage. First he restored the transmission, the brakes and the motor, then broke in the engine on the dynamometer. He cleaned up the 3-liter Sixes and the finned brake drums, one of which was missing and had to be replaced completely. Leno had no interest in doing anything fancy, instead planning on finding as many regular and stock parts as possible.
Jay-Z owns a Maybach Exelero, which cost an unbelievable $8.8 million. But with an estimated net worth of over half a billion dollars, it’s not as crazy for him as it sounds to most. It was even featured in one of his music videos, 2011’s Otis with Kanye West. The two-seater coupe has a max speed of over 200 mph. It’s a one-off high-performance sports car that was commissioned by Fulda, a German tire company, to test their Carat Exelero tires. This was their second model to do so after 1996’s Gemballa Extremo.
Jay-Z and Birdman
Jay-Z isn’t the only rapper with this incredible vehicle. Birdman also got one of the Exeleros, which can go from 0 to 60 in only 4.4 seconds, and planned on painting it red. But it was later reported that he wasn’t able to pay for the pricey purchase, which is strange considering at the time he was worth over $100 million. Many assume this was due to all of his other super expensive cars.
While this $500 thousand Maybach 62 isn’t an Exelero, it’s a example of the automaker’s more classic style, which is a pretty dramatic contrast from the more modern sports car. Celine Dion owns the one seen above. The 62, along with the 57, are the first Maybach models after the brand’s revival by Daimler Chrysler AG. The design of the concept car comes from the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan. The 62 costs around half a million dollars.
Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Convertible
Another classic car, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Convertible, is owned by none other than Beyonce. While it’s not her husbands $8 million Maybach, it still cost an impressive $1 million. The 1959 convertible limousine features blue wide leather seats and sky blue facade, a navy blue top with white wall tires, and a 6.2-liter V8 engine that can go from 0 to 60 mph in 10.9 seconds. It was a very generous gift from Jay-Z.
2,417 Silver Cloud IIs were produced between 1959 and 1962. The original Silver Cloud was the core model of the Rolls-Royce range at the time. The model replaced the Silver Dawn and was eventually replaced by the Silver Shadow. The Silver Cloud’s design was a drastic change from the automaker’s previous pre-war models. The Silver Cloud II wasn’t too different externally, but the new, more powerful engine, discussed before, pushed the weight to 2.11 tonnes.
Due to the new engine, the top speed increased to 114 mph and the acceleration and torque were greatly improved. Power steering was also made standard and electrically operated windows were added as an option. Unfortunately, this model wasn’t as quiet and smooth as the Silver Cloud I. There were also some internal issues with the engine, specifically regarding the space needed to do the proper repairs. Either way, it’s still a beautiful car that any celeb would be lucky to own.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson owns this unreal Pagani Huayra, which cost an estimated $1.5 million. This beautiful model sits amongst multiple exotic and expensive vehicles in his collection. He even showed up to the premier of his HBO show Ballers in the Pagani Huayra, which is considered one of the best sports cars in the world. The only problem with the low riding car, for The Rock specifically, is that it’s a bit of a struggle for the giant celebrity to get in and out.
The Italian mid-engined Huayra followed Pagani’s previous car, the Zonda. The name Huayra comes from a Quechua wind god named Huayra-tata. It was named Top Gear magazines “The Hypercar of the Year 2012.” By 2015 the automaker had sold out of the amazing model, seeing as they limited production to just 100 units as a part of the original agreement, with Mercedes-AMG, who supplied its engine.
The Pagani Huayra comes with a twin-turbo, V12 engine, designed specifically for the model. The M158, its 6.0-litre engine, produces 720 horse power. The car has a top speed of 238 mph and can go from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds, making it the fastest in this article so far. The Pirelli tires are able to withstand 1.66 g of lateral acceleration. There are now multiple versions, including the Huayra Roadster and the BC, with special editions like the Carbon Edition, the White Edition, the La Monza Lisa, the 730S Da Vinci, the BC Kingtasma, the Pearl and the Dinastia.
Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss
Kanye West is a controversial celebrity who loves to challenge his fanbase. But one thing most can’t argue with is his taste for cars. His Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss, which cost around a million dollars, is arguably the most futuristic in this article. Its name comes from the race driver and the model was a limited edition with only 75 vehicles produced. Kanye was lucky to get one of these rare cars and has appeared at various events in it.
The speedster’s styling, which takes after the 300 SLR, doesn’t come with a roof or windscreen. The exterior was designed by Noon II-hun, a Korean designer, and the interior was designed by Sarkis Benliyan, a Dutch designer. It’s the second to last series of the SLR from the Mercedes-Benz partnership with McLaren, followed by only 25 units of the special McLaren edition in 2010, more than a year after the SLR was discontinued.
These models were introduced in 2003 and produced until 2010. The hand-built V8 engine takes the car from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 209 mph. The different editions, aside from the aforementioned Stirling Moss, included the 722 Edition coupe, the Roadster, the Roadster 722 S, the 722 GT, and the previously discussed McLaren Edition. They sold 615 units in 2005, 261 units in 2006, and 275 units in 2007, from a limited production of 2,157 units.
Another classic car owned by a renowned celebrity collector is the all white 1986 Porsche 959. Porsche is Jerry Seinfeld’s favorite kind of car, and this model is pretty amazing. The cost was an estimated $700 thousand, and rumored as high as $1.8 million, which is actually fair considering the rare car is one of only 337 units built. When it debuted, the company claimed it was the world’s fastest street-legal production car. But only 200 of the models were actually street legal, and only Jerry knows if his is one of them.
The 959 was manufactured between 1986 to 1993, and was originally a Group B rally car. The twin-turbocharged model reached a top speed of 197 mph, with some even going as fast as 211 mph. At the time, it was considered the most technologically advanced sports car ever built, and one of the first super cars. It was also the first high-performance vehicle with all-wheel drive, which eventually led to all their 911 Turbos, beginning with the 993, to come with the feature as standard.
Seinfeld isn’t the only famous person to own one of these incredible cars. Bill Gates, the multi-billionaire founder of Microsoft, even bought one before they were upgraded to street legal. After his purchase, the Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency required approval and Porsche did what they needed to do. The Gates 959 had to be stored for over a decade waiting for the import limitations to allow for its use.
Fisker Karma Hybrid
It makes sense that known eco-activist Leonardo DiCaprio would drive a hybrid. And he certainly does it in style with the Fisker Karma Hybrid, which cost an estimated $150 thousand. This superstar actor, producer and environmental advocate’s model of the amazing sports car features an ‘Eco-Chic’ interior, which means no animal products were used. DiCaprio also owns a Tesla Roadster and even a Toyota Prius.
The Fisker Karma Hybrids were manufactured at Valet Automotive in Finland and approved by the EPA. The hybrid has a pair of 161 horse power electric motors powered by a 20.1 kWh lithium ion battery. It comes with a standard solar paneled roof, which helps the car’s climate controls. The Karma has a lot of torque, with a top speed of 125 mph, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds.
Fisker Automotive was founded by Henrik Fisker in 2007 in California. The automaker produced the Karma, one of the first luxury plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, which debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. Unfortunately, the company declared bankruptcy in November of 2013 and all of its assets were bought by the Chinese auto parts conglomerate Wanxiang Group the next year and renamed Karma Automotive.
Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
Michael Jordan is rightfully considered the greatest basketball player of all time, and it makes sense that he would use some of his billion dollar fortune to find and buy a lot of cool automobiles. He owns a variety of amazing cars and a dozen motorcycles, some of which are custom built. His bright yellow Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano cost an estimated $200 thousand and is an impressive and fitting addition to his amazing collection.
The name 599 comes from its total engine displacement of 5999 cc, as well as its Gran Turismo Berlinetta nature and the fact that it was tested on the Fiorano Circuit track. Its V12 engine can take it from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of over 205 mph. It’s also available in an HGTE, Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione, package, a GTO option, an XX, an XX Evoluzione, and even special variants, the 599 SA Aperta and the 599 GTB 60F1.
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is an Italian grand tourer, which is a performance and luxury automobile capable of high speeds and long-distance driving. This model replaced Ferrari’s 575M Maranello in 2006 and was eventually replaced by the F12 Berlinetta in 2013. It was styled by Pininfarina, an Italian car design firm, under the supervision of Frank Stephenson, an American automobile designer who also worked at Mini, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and McLaren.
Audi R8 Spyder
Actor Tom Hardy, known for his roles in The Dark Knight Rises, The Revenant and the upcoming Venom comic book movie, owns one of the coolest cars in this article. His Audi R8 Spyder, which cost around $160 thousand, has been compared to the batmoblie, which is fitting considering he played Bane, as well as one of the most iconic Spider-man villains. It has an awesome matte black finish and drop top option.
The Spyder variation of this classic model was unveiled in 2011 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s oldest active sports car race in endurance racing that has been held annually since 1923 outside Le Mans, France. It is essentially the convertible version of the R8 GT. Only 333 units were produced. The only difference between this and the R8 GT, beyond the roof, is the weight. The car is built with ultra-light magnesium and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer amongst other lightweight compounds.
The original R8 model is a mid-engine, 2-seater sports car with Audi’s trademark quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. The GT model has a top speed of 199 mph and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than the V10 model. The Spyder model is a bit slower with a top speed of 186 mph and a 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. The R8 is very popular and has dozens of variations.
Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita
Famous boxer Floyd Mayweather is known to carry around duffle bags full of cash, sometimes as much as six or seven figures worth. So it’s no surprise that he would own one of the most expensive cars in this article. The Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita cost an estimated $4.8 million. He definitely helped to put this rare and exciting sports car on the map, and it must be as exciting to drive as it is to look at.
The original model of the mid-engined sports car was built by Koenigsegg Automotive AB. The automaker wanted to create a global car, meaning it was designed and engineered to comply with worldwide safety and environmental regulations. The name CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coupe X, with the X, which is the Roman numeral for ten, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the first finished CC model and test drive a decade before.
The twin charged V8 engine runs on 91 octane gasoline. The CCXR model is even more environmentally friendly than its predecessor, with the option to use E85 and E100 ethanol fuel. It also features modified fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines and piston rings, and a higher boost setting on the superchargers. The CCXR Trevita, meaning “three whites,” comes with a diamond weave carbon fibre finish, which explains the staggering price tag.
Ferrari 458 Italia
Another famous fighter with great taste for cars is Manny Pacquiao, who has an impressive collection including a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, a Mercedes SL550, and a Cadillac Escalade and Hummer H2 that are armoured. Above is his $270 thousand Ferrari 458 Italia, a mid-engined sports car that replaced the F430 and was first officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The 458 was eventually replaced by the Ferrari 488.
While it was meant to replace the F430, the design was very different, including new technologies that were developed as a result of the company’s exercise with Formula 1. Its body computer system was developed by Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting. The 4.8 engine features direct fuel injection, which was a first for the Ferrari road cars. It goes from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 mph.
The 458 comes in the Speciale, a high performance variant of the original, and the spider version Speciale A, which stands for Aperta, the Italian word for “open.” There is also the China Edition, which commemorated the 20th anniversary of Ferrari in China. Some one-off models were the SP12 EC, built for musician Eric Clapton, and the Pininfarina Sergio, a concept car built in memory of chairman Sergio Pininfarina. The 458 also has various racing models.
Bentley has to be included in this article, seeing as it is a staple amongst celebrity car owners. The most memorable model has to be musician Seal’s $380 thousand Bentley Azure, seen above, which is painted a striking gold. The large, four seater convertible is noticeable enough as is, but giving it a rare gold finish definitely takes things up a notch. Seal has been seen all over Los Angeles in the unique vehicle.
The Azure debuted in 1995 and was produced for 8 years on the Continental R platform. Three years after production stopped, a newer version, with an updated engine and platform, the Arnage, was introduced. The original came with a shell and soft top which were built at their Italian factory, with the final assembling happening at Crewe. It has a 6.75-litre V8 that takes it from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph.
The second generation version was based on the aforementioned Arnage platform, which is another large Bentley luxury car. The comeback was brought on by Volkswagen, who had purchased Bentley from Vickers in 1998. The new engine was a turbocharged upgrade from the older V8 and goes 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 168 mph. It’s available in the Azure T model, as well.
Pop star Justin Bieber has an amazing collection of cars, including a customized Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and a customized Range Rover SUV, both with matte black exteriors. He also owns one of the previously mentioned Fisker Karma Hybrids as well as a couple Ferraris and a Lamborghini. But maybe the most distinct is his $250 thousand leopard print Audi R8, which was designed by West Coast Customs.
Lady Gaga also owns one of these awesome automobiles, of which there are only 333 in existence and just 90 in the United States. The mid-engine, 2-seater features Audi’s trademark Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. While Audi is known for their popular sedans and mid-size SUVs, the R8 was modeled after a Lamborghini and uses the Audi Space Frame.
The Audi R8 comes in several variants, including the Le Mans quattro, the Coupe 4.2 FSI Quattro, the Coupe 5.2 FSI quattro, and Spyder options on both of the previous two. There were also some concept models, like the V12 TDI, the LMS, and the e-tron, which is smaller. The R8 GT can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 199 mph.
The Porsche 991, also known as the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, is one of the most popular in this article. The one above belongs to Wiz Khalifa. Most models come in at a little over $100 thousand, but due to the customizations, including the cool color, his ran closer to $150 thousand. Another 991 appeared in one of his music videos for the song It’s Nothin featuring 2 Chainz.
The original 911 is a two-door, high performance classic German sports car that has been around since 1963. The 911 number is an internal code, but includes various styles including the Porsche 930, a turbocharged version, the Porsche 964, the Porsche 993, the Porsche 996, which featured an all new body and engines, as well as the Porsche 997 and Porsche 991. Both of the final two also have a 997.1 and 997.2, 991.1 and 991.2, which signal the years when they were upgraded.
Depending on the specific variants, 991s have top speeds ranging from 196 mph to 201 mph. Other celebrities who own these Porsches are actor Keanu Reeves, comedian Ellen DeGeneres, action star Jason Statham, the previously discussed LeBron James, actress Hilary Duff, baseball legend Ken Griffey, Jr., musician Miley Cyrus and television star Patrick Dempsey.
While we’ve already seen the Lamborghini Aventador, with customized models owned by LeBron James, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, the Diablo model is definitely worth discussing. The one above, with the crazy custom paint job, is owned by rap legend Missy Elliott and cost an estimated $300 thousand. The cool purple color definitely fits her larger than life persona, and helps her stand out from some of the other celebs who also own Lambos…
Lamborghinis are a status symbol for the rich and famous, considering they not only cost a fortune but are also instantly recognizable due to their sleek design and innovative features. Other celebrities who own these amazing vehicles are Diddy, with a $200 thousand model, the aforementioned Kanye West, Lil Jon, who was one of the first rappers to own the Murcielago, Ray J, Janet Jackson, David Beckham, who will be discussed soon, and Guy Fieri, whose Lambo was actually stolen, but then found.
The Diablo is the first production Lamborghini capable of going over 200 mph. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds. There are several variants, including the Roadster, the VT, the SE30 and SE30 Jota, the SV, the VT Roadster, the VT 6.0 and VT 6.0 SE, and even some factory racing special editions. There aren’t too many cars discussed here that also double as legitimate race cars. The Diablo was eventually replaced by the Murcielago in 2001.
Another one of the most popular cars amongst celebrities is the Bugatti Veyron, which is incredibly impressive considering it costs over $2 million. The one above belongs to Drake, and it’s a Sang Noir version, of which there were only a little over a dozen made. This type cost a whopping $3.2 million when it was originally released. It features an all black exterior color palette and a bright orange interior, with a top speed of 253 mph.
While it’s not the Sang Noir, rapper Flo Rida’s gold Veyron is as noticeable and arguably as impressive. It cost an estimated $2.7 million, with a good chunk of that surely going to the custom paint job, which was done by a company called Metro Wrapz in Hollywood, Florida. And he didn’t just customize the paint, even the wheels are 24 karat gold, which also helps to explain the increased price. He also owned a chrome version at one point.
Another famous rapper who owns a Bugatti is The Game, whose car is seen above. The Veyron is a mid-engined sports car that was named after the race car driver Pierre Veyron. It’s designed and developed by Germany’s Volkswagen Group. Top Gear named it the Car of the Decade for 2000 to 2009, as well as the Best Car Driven All Year in 2005. The Super Sport version holds the Guinness World Record for being the fastest street-legal production car with a top speed of 267 mph.
Bugatti Veyron Continued
This car is so popular and amazing to look at, it earned an extended section of this article. The Veyron was designed by Jozef Kaban under the guidance of engineering chief Wolfgang Schreiber. There are several variations, including the 16.4 Grand Sport and 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, and the previously discussed world record holding Super Sport. Some of the Vitesse models were dedicated to racing legends like Jean-Pierre Wimille, Jean Bugatti, Meo Costantini, and Ettore Bugatti.
There aren’t as many athletes in this article as there are actors and musicians, but it makes sense that the ones discussed here own one of the most expensive cars in the world. NFL legend and Super Bowl winner Tom Brady has a Super Sport, which cost an estimated $3 million. He also loves Audis, but the black Veyron is virtually unmatched. Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo also owns one, and loves to show it off.
It’s been established that rappers love the Veyron, with other famous owners like Lil’ Wayne and T-Pain, but these amazing cars, that go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, are big with all kinds of celebs. The previously discussed Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has one, along with celebrity judge Simon Cowell, the aforementioned Jay-Z, another famous Tom: Tom Cruise, fashion designer Ralph Lauren, who has over 70 cars in his collection, and the previously seen Chris Brown and Birdman.
Gwen Stefani owns this awesome $200 thousand Porsche Panamera, one of the several Porsche models discussed in this article. Hers is a hybrid, the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid to be exact. Unlike many of the sports cars seen here, this is a luxury 4-door sedan. It’s a front-engined vehicle that comes in both two-wheel and all-wheel drive. The Panamera was designed by Vlad Esanu and unveiled at the 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show in Shanghai, China in 2009.
Its name, along with the classic Carrera line, comes from the Carrera Panamericana, a border-to-border sedan and sports car racing event on open roads in Mexico similar to the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio in Italy. The Porsche Panamera started out as the 989 concept vehicle in the late ‘80s. It’s a much bigger Porsche than most of the other models, but not as big as the hugely popular Cayenne SUV, which is now their best-selling vehicle.
The Panamera was built between 2009 and 2016. It comes with either a V6 or a V8 engine depending on the variant. There’s the Turbo S, Gwen’s S Hybrid and S E-Hybrid plug-in model, the Diesel and even some special editions. The Platinum Edition comes in five different colors and has upgraded features. And these cars aren’t just comfortable and laid back, they’re actually pretty powerful. They go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 to 5.5 seconds, and have top speeds from 164 to 193 mph.
1958 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina
Another classic car that is arguably as cool as anything else in this article, is Nicholas Cage’s 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina. It’s one of many unreal cars in his crazy collection. He also owns a 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III, a 1965 Lamborghini 350 GT, a Ferrari Enzo, a 1955 Porsche 356 Pre-A Speedster, a 1963 Jaguar E-type Semi-Lightweight Competition, a 1970 Hemi ‘Cuda Hardtop, a 1938 Bugatti T57C Atalante Coupe, a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spyder and a 1971 Lamborghini Miura SVJ.
The incredible 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina cost the famous actor an estimated $3.6 million. There were only 350 of these, all hand-built by Ferrari from 1958 to 1960. For its time, the high speed of 141 mph was rare, making it super fast for a road-going car. The original Ferrari 250 came about in 1953, and ended up being the company’s most successful early line. It was later followed by the 275 and the 330.
Even though these cars weren’t in production for too long, only being manufactured for a decade, there are several variants. In just over ten years, Ferrari was able to create the 250 S, the 250 MM, the 250 Monza, the 250 Testa Rossa, the 250 GTO, the 250 P, the 250 LM, the 250 Export, the 250 Europa, the 250 Europa GT, and the 250 GT Boano and Ellena, among many others.
The McLaren MP4-12C is one of the rarest cars in this article. It’s owned by famous musician Will.I.Am, who paid an estimated $300 thousand for his, as well as NBA star Dwyane Wade and hip hop legend Sir-Mix-Alot. The one above is the style of Will.I.Am’s, who has an amazing collection that includes a Bentley Continental GT, a Tesla, and a custom 1959 Corvette.
The McLaren MP4-12C is also known as the McLaren 12C. In 2011, it became the first production car completely created by the company since 1998, when the McLaren F1 stopped production. Development on the 12C started in 2007 and was based on a Ferrari 360. The final design was unveiled two years later, and assembly began another two years after that. They also designed and built variants like the Spider and the 650S.
It was designed by Frank Stephenson, features a carbon fibre composite chassis, and is powered by a 3.8-litre V8, twin-turbo engine. This was used to minimize weight. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and 0 to 100 mph in 6 seconds. Its top speed varies from 207 to 218 mph depending on the model. It’s an award winning car that deserves all of its accolades.
Bentley Continental GTC
Superstar actor and musician Jennifer Lopez loves Bentleys, and owns not just one, but two, including the Arnage and the Continental, seen above. It’s a grand tourer that’s been around since 2003 and was the first car released by Bentley after it was acquired by Volkswagen. And these beautifully luxurious vehicles aren’t cheap, costing around $200 thousand at their starting price. So the fact that she has two is pretty impressive to say the least.
Rolls-Royce Motors, which will be discussed again soon, at one time owned Bentley. In 1994, they previewed a convertible concept car. It was designed with the intention to incorporate many of their other cars’ features while also being smaller and more affordable, yet still exclusive enough to maintain the integrity of the brand. The original concept car, the Concept Java, never made it into production, but eventually became the Continental GT.
The first generation GTs were released from 2003 to 2011 after debuting at the Geneva Motor Show, as well as Le Mans. They are equipped with a 6.0 litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine that can take it from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 197.6 mph. The early models came in six different colors and the torsen-based permanent four-wheel drive is standard.
The Auburn Speedster is a classic car that dates all the way back to 1935, but it’s still just as cool today, if not more so. Rapper and television star CeeLo Green owns one of the vintage vehicles, and it cost him an estimated $130 thousand. It was designed by Gordon Buehrig and manufactured in America by the Auburn Automobile Company of Auburn, Indiana.
The Auburn Automobile Company was founded in 1900 and ceased production in 1937. After a couple decades, the company wasn’t doing well, only producing about 6 cars a year. Then a car salesman named Errett Lobban Cord took over the company and brought in designer James Crawford to help style the new line. In 1925 the first Auburn eight was launched and went through a lot of changes before being officially released as the Speedster.
A year after it was launched, the “eight” was renamed the 8-88 and given a new engine. This version remained for four years until 1930 when it was upgraded to the Speedster 115. It then became the 125 and was advertised as a “racing car with the comfort of a closed car.” At that point, it had a top speed of 100 mph. In 1931, the 851 Speedster as we know it today was finished and introduced.
Vintage Bentley Blower
Another amazing classic celebrity car is the Vintage Bentley Blower, which is owned by the previously discussed fashion mogul Ralph Lauren, who has a crazy collection of up to 70 automobiles. This incredible addition cost him an estimated $5 million. It’s even older than the 1935 Auburn Speedster, seeing as it’s from all the way back in 1929, making it the oldest Bentley in this article.
This car started out as the Bentley 4½ Litre. When it won the aforementioned 24 Hours of Le Mans automotive endurance course in 1928, it went from being seen as just a personal car to something more. 720 of the regional models were produced up until 1931, 55 of which were given the Blower title due to their supercharged engine. This version set several speed records at 138 mph.
The engine is a Roots-type supercharger, which has a positive displacement lobe pump, added by chief engineer Amherst Villiers. Its location gave the Blower its unique look and made the front end lighter. The company was sold to Rolls-Royce in 1931 due to the recession. In three of the 007 novels, James Bond drives the car, making it even more iconic than it already was.
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
Now we come back to the present day with the super modern Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Supermodel Kate Upton owns one that cost her an estimated $248 thousand. The car is a front mid-engine, 2-seater, limited production sports car. It was actually developed by a division of Mercedes-Benz called Mercedes-AMG. This model was the first in-house design from AMG.
One of its most distinguishable features is obviously the gullwing doors, which give the SLS AMG a futuristic look. SLS stands for Super Light Sport, and the car was the successor to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and was described as a spiritual successor to the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. It was the first Mercedes-Benz built by hand from scratch entirely by the AMG division and was promoted as having “the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated production series engine” ever.
This awesome automobile can go from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds and has a high speed of 197 mph thanks to its advanced 6.2 liter engine. It can also do a quarter mile in 11.7 seconds at 125 mph. It’s available in multiple models, including the SLS AMG Coupe, the SLS AMG “AMG Desert Gold,” the SLS AMG “Blackbird,” the SLS AMG E-CELL prototype, the SLS AMG GT3, and SLS AMG Roadster among others, even including an ambulance.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe
Another amazing celebrity-owned Rolls-Royce is the Phantom Drophead Coupe. The British handmade luxury car debuted at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan in 2007. While its platform is based on the Phantom, some of the design elements come from the 100EX, one of the company’s concept cars. The Drophead Coupe is their most expensive model at over $500 thousand.
The two unique doors, which open rearward, house the four comfortable seats inside. The exterior is available in over 44,000 color combinations, and includes the Spirit of Ecstasy, which is the Rolls-Royce retractable hood ornament. In its first year, 253 of the cars were sold. The first Drophead Coupe in the US market was auctioned off for charity at the Naples, Florida Winter Wine festival for $2 million.
Of course this classic car is loved by celebrities. Soccer star David Beckham owns a black one that came fully customized. It has custom-built 24-inch Savini Forged wheels and even his jersey number “23” embroidered onto the seats. Rap legend, actress and television star Queen Latifah also has a Drophead Coupe, but hers is silver. A couple of these cars were even featured in the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in London.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is such a beloved celebrity car we had to dedicate an extended section of this article to it. While we already looked at the Drophead Coupe variant, now we will focus on the original Phantom. Although, this name has been used on their luxury cars for almost a century starting in 1925. There are Phantoms numbered from I to VIII, each run lasting about a decade or so. And of course there are the Coupe and the Drophead Coupe.
Most of the Phantoms owned new in the 21st century are the model VII, which was produced between 2003 to 2017. It was the first Rolls-Royce developed and introduced after BMW purchased the rights to use the Rolls-Royce name and logo in 1998. This model essentially restored the credibility of the brand. The inside is incredibly luxurious, with coach doors, or suicide doors, that are rear-hinged and help complete its signature look.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is celebrated throughout the hip hop community, often the subject of lyrics and used in music videos, so it’s no surprise that a lot of rappers own the amazing car. Legends like Snoop Dogg, the previously seen Diddy, and maybe the best female rap artist ever Lil’ Kim all paid well over $400 thousand for theirs. And there’s an even more rare and exciting Rolls-Royce featured next…
The final Rolls-Royce discussed in this article is the Wraith, a model that was first built in 1938, and then again in 2013. It was based on the chassis of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, a model car that paid tribute to the first Silver Ghost produced in 1906. The name Wraith comes from an old Scottish word meaning ghost or spirit, which makes it an appropriate companion to the similarly named Ghost and Phantom.
The Wraith was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and deliveries began later that year. It was designed by Pavle Trpinac and assembled at Goodwood manufacturing in the United Kingdom. It’s a grand tourer class, 2-door coupe with an FR layout based on the BMW F01 platform. The engine is a twin-turbo V12 and has an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Rapper Rick Ross and supermodel/reality television star Blac Chyna both have one of the estimated $400 thousand Wraiths. Gwen Stefani, seen earlier with her awesome Porsche, also has a Wraith. The previously discussed Jennifer Lopez and Floyd Mayweather Jr., along with hip hop legend Ice-T, singer Rod Stewart, R&B star Ne-yo, and rappers T.I., Waka Flocka, and The Game all own one of the aforementioned Ghosts.
Hennessey Venom GT Spyder
Rocker and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler owns one of the craziest cars in this article, the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, which is worth over a million dollars. It’s a high performance sports car manufactured by the Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering and its design is based on the Lotus Elise/Exige. This incredible automobile holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest production car after it went from 0 to 186 mph in 13.63 seconds.
The Hennessey Venom GT Spyder holds several records, which makes sense considering it has a top speed of 265.57 mph. This was recorded at California’s Naval Air Station Lemoore during Hennessey’s 25th anniversary celebration. At one point, on a shuttle landing strip at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, it topped out at 270.49 mph, giving it the distinction of claiming the fastest one-way record by a production car. The driver even said it could’ve gone faster, up to 280 mph, if there had been more road.
As previously stated, the Venom GT uses a heavily modified Lotus Elise/Exige chassis, including the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper and head lamps. It has a twin turbocharged V8 engine with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission. It comes in several variants like the Venom GT Spyder, the Venom F5, and special editions the Venom GT “World’s Fastest Edition” and the Venom GT “Final Edition.”
Porsche Carrera GT
Another super sleek sports car is the Porsche Carrera GT, one of which is owned by Tiger Woods, costing the golf legend almost half a million dollars. This is a mid-engined automobile that was manufactured in Leipzig, Germany between 2004 and 2007. It was named one of the Top Sports Cars of the 2000s and made it to number eight on the Top Sports Cars of All Time list, both from Sports Car International.
The Porsche Carrera GT’s development was based on the 911 GT1 and LMP1-98 racing cars. It was initially intended to use a turbocharged flat-6, but was later redesigned to use a new V10 engine. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and 0 to 100 mph in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. It was only available with a traditional six-speed manual transmission and featured a technologically advanced pure carbon fibre monocoque and subframe.
Interestingly enough, most of the celebrity owners of the Porsche Carrera GT are famous funnymen, including avid collectors and previously discussed Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, as well as Tim Allen. Unfortunately, the aforementioned Tiger Woods’ Carrera GT ownership was made famous when the car became too powerful for him to control, causing an accident near his house.
Famous professional wrestler Bill Goldberg has an impressive collection of muscle cars, including a classic Shelby Cobra, which cost an estimated $1.5 million. More about his collection soon, but first let’s check out the AC Cobra. Production began in the US, in Los Angeles, California, and the UK, in Thames Ditton, Surrey, England, in 1962. The body style is a 2-door roadster with an FR layout.
AC Cars, like many others from Britain, used the Bristol straight-6 engine, which had a pre-World War II design by BMW. Bristol ceased production on these in 1961, so AC started using the 2.6 litre Ford Zephyrengine in its cars. Later that year, American automotive designer Carroll Shelby asked AC to build him a car modified to accept a V8 engine. They agreed, but Shelby had to find the engine. He did, and Ford ending up supplying it.
Aside from his daily-use 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty, the former-WCW Heavyweight Champion’s incredible garage holds a 1976 Trans Am, an Infini Q45, a 1969 Convertible Chevelle, a 1959 Chevy Biscayne, a 1966 Jaguar XK-E Series 1 Convertible, a 1963 Dodge 330, a 1969 Dodge Charger, a 1967 Shelby GT500, a 1968 Plymouth GTX, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, a 1970 ½ Camaro Z28, a 1968 Super Stock Dodge Dart Replica and several other classic cars.
Famous R&B singer Akon also has an amazing collection, all of which he customizes by painting them white inside and out. All of his cars are the same color, including a Porsche Panamera, a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Lamborghini Gallardo, an armored Dartz Prombron SUV and a Spyker C8, which cost an estimated $350 thousand. This is a spectacular sports car produced by the Dutch automaker Spyker Cars.
The base model comes with a 4.2 litre V8 engine, giving it a top speed of 186 mph, with the upgraded variants going as fast as 214 mph. The Spyder C8 Double 12R has even raced in the 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as several other endurance races. The Spyker C8 is a celebrity of its own having been featured in the movies Basic Instinct 2, War, Fast & Furious 6, a 2010 commercial for Reese’s Puffs, and dozens of videogames.
There are many different versions of the Spyker C8, including the wide body Spyder SWB, the Spyder T, the Laviolette, the Laviolette LM85, the Double 12S, the Double 12R, the Spyder GT2-R, the Laviolette GT2-R, the Aileron, the Aileron Spyder, the Preliator and the Preliator Spyder.
Also known as the G-Class, the Mercedes-Benz G550 is the first SUV featured in this article. But it’s a fitting addition considering the incredible number of celebrities who have a G-Wagen. But before we look at all the famous owners, let’s learn about this awesome cross country vehicle. The mid-sized four-wheel drive luxury SUV is manufactured by Magna Steyr in Austria. It’s been around since the late ‘70s, making it one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Daimler’s history.
It was originally conceived as a military vehicle, suggested by the King of Iran who was a Mercedes shareholder. It was used as both an army truck and civilian car throughout the 20th century before becoming available in the US in 2002. It originally came with a V-8 petrol engine and was a consistent seller, averaging several thousand units sold every year. At one point, The Vatican even received a new white “Popemobile” based on a G550, but he’s not the only famous person to own one.
Again, this is one of the most popular, practical celebrity cars. Famous action star Sylvestor Stallone, actor Bradley Cooper, supermodel and reality television star Kylie Jenner, pop star Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, rapper Iggy Azalea, rapper T.I., former child star Hilary Duff, Oscar-winner Diane Keaton and the previously discussed champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. all drive a Mercedes-Benz G550, which cost anywhere from $150 thousand to almost twice that.
Another celebrity SUV is Shaquille O’Neal’s iconic Superman-themed Cadillac Escalade, which cost him an estimated $150 thousand. This is obviously due to the incredible range of customized features he added to the normally common vehicle, many of which will be discussed soon. But first, it’s worth pointing out that the original model’s price tag is around half of what Shaq’s ending up costing…
His Escalade has custom chrome rims and Kumho tires, a Lexani Body Kit, and a matching Burgundy exterior. It also features other custom elements like the fuel door, tinted windows, tinted tail lights, Lamborghini-style front doors, and a strut grill with the Superman emblem, which is also on the rear hatch and the two tone leather seats. The sound system is top of the line and it even has an upgraded engine. It’s so iconic, some fans have even tried to create their own, one of which can be seen below.
Many NBA players have awesome car collections, and Shaq is definitely one of them. He’s had over 30 cars worked on by West Coast Customs alone. His collection includes a 2001 Chevrolet G1500, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a Cadillac DTS, a Jeep Wrangler, a Ford Expedition, a Lincoln Continental, a Lincoln Navigator, and multiple Hummer H2s. But the most recognizable has to be his Superman Escalade. And there’s another custom celebrity Escalade that might have his beat…
Cadillac Escalade ESV
As impressive as Shaq’s Superman Escalade is, it almost can’t even compete with rap legend Dr. Dre’s estimated $200 thousand Cadillac Escalade ESV. His tailor-made, all black SUV is essentially a longer version of the original model. The ESV’s most basic options still Coe with a price tag of almost $100 thousand, which gives you a good idea of how much Dre put into his custom ESV.
He not only stretched it out further, but also made it taller, adding a custom strut grille and custom wheels. Becker Automotive Design modified the ESV, filling it with amazing features that basically turned it into an office on wheels. Some have even compared it to an automobile version of a private jet. The interior photos above and below aren’t of Dre’s exact SUV, but show just how amazing his must be.
The Cadillac Escalade ESV is their version of the Chevrolet Suburban, which is the bigger option after the Tahoe. The ESV was made in Silao, Mexico before it was redesigned in 2007 and the manufacturing was transferred to Arlington, Texas. It’s available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Middle East. The Escalade ESV is Cadillac’s largest luxury oriented passenger and load carrying vehicle.
The Lamborghini Murcielago is the last, but certainly not the least, Lamborghini discussed in this article. It’s very popular with celebrities, but before we look at all of its famous owners, let’s learn about this amazing automobile. The Murcielago was produced between 2001 and 2010, and was the successor to the Diablo. This was Lamborghini’s first new design in eleven years, as well as the first under Audi, their parent company.
This awesome sports car was styled by Luc Donckerwolke, who was the company’s head of design at the time. It’s named after one of Spain’s most respected fighting bulls. The Murcielago is an all-wheel drive, mid-engined sports car. The V12 engine can take it from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 210 mph. It was followed by the aforementioned Aventador, which is also a popular celebrity ride. But now check out all the famous Murcielago owners…
This as another ride that rappers love, as well as athletes and movie and television stars. Hip hop artists 50 Cent, Jeezy, Curren$y and Rick Ross are all proud owners. Olympic snowboarding legend Shaun White has one, as well as controversial NBA legend Ron Artest AKA Metta World Peace. More celebrity owners are television star Wilmer Valderrama, and the previously seen Akon, whose is of course painted white like all the other cars in his collection.
While the classic car company Jaguar hasn’t been discussed as much in this article, that doesn’t mean it’s not as beloved in the celebrity community as all the others. Especially the F-Type, one of their sportiest models. The two-door, two-seater was based on a shortened platform of the XK convertible, was the spiritual successor to the famous E-Type, and was the replacement for the Jaguar XK.
In 1982, Jaguar developed a concept car, the XJ41, that was later cancelled at the end of the decade when Ford took over the company. But then it was reworked and renamed the XJS and became the aforementioned XK, the XK8 to be exact. In 2000, at the Detroit Motor Show, another F-Type concept was unveiled. After multiple changes, the X152 was developed. Finally in 2013 it was officially called the F-Type and revealed in London. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in anywhere from 3.5 to 5.1 seconds and with a top speed between 161 and 200 mph, depending on the variant.
The previously discussed Top Gear’s Jodie Kidd owns one of the fantastic F-Types, as well as Late Late Show host James Corden. Other famous owners include actress Emmy Rossum, the aforementioned Simon Cowell and supermodel Miranda Kerr. The last two celebrities were even at the launch party for the car in 2013.
Ferrari 458 Italia
Ferrari’s are obviously popular amongst the rich and famous. Celebrities love to show off their style in the super sleek sports cars. The next sections of this article will be dedicated to this iconic brand, starting with the 458 Italia. The original 458 replaced the F430, was official unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, and was replaced by the 488 in 2015.
The 458 has a powerful V8 engine that can take it from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 to 3 seconds. It has a top speed of 210 mph and costs around $230 thousand. There are several variants, including the 458 Spider, the 458 Speciale, the Italia China Edition, and The SP12 EC one-off. Its 458 Challenge takes the car onto the racetrack, along with the 458 Italia GT2 and GT3.
So many celebs own this amazing model, many of whom have been seen already in this article. Stars Justin Bieber, mogul Simon Cowell, fighter Manny Pacquiao, R&B singer Akon and rapper Rick Ross all include this amongst their previously discussed rides. Other celebrity owners are NBA legend Kobe Bryant, rapper Gucci Mane, producer The Dream, musicians Eric Clapton and Ozzy Osbourne and soccer star Mario Balotelli. And finally, leading us into the final sections of this article, are two members of the Kardashian clan, Scott Disick and Kim Kardashian. Let’s see what other cars this famous family drives…
Ferrari 458 Spider
The Kardashians really love Ferraris, especially the previously mentioned Ferrari 458 Spider, a variant of the 458. Famous sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who are known for their roles on the family’s television show as well as on social media and in the fashion world. Both have their own Spiders, seen above and below. Kendall’s is a more classic black, where Kylie’s has an incredible custom paint job with special red wheels to accent the color. Like the last model discussed, these run for around a quarter of a million dollars.
The Spider has many of the same attributes discussed with the 458 standard and Italia models. The Spider is different in that it is the convertible variant that features an aluminium retractable hardtop that can be opened in 14 seconds. It debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Spider has the same 0 to 60 second time but is a bit slower at 199 mph.
The Kardashians aren’t the only celebrities with the Ferrari 458 Spider. Popstar Justin Bieber, action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger, NBA legend LeBron James, television star Joanna Krupa, singer Geri Halliwell, actor Hayden Christensen, singer Seal, and rapper The Game all own one of these cool cars. But now let’s look at some other awesome Kardashian rides…
Scott Disick has been discussed multiple times in this article, having amassed an amazing collection of classic cars, both vintage and modern. One that definitely stands out is his Audi R8, seen above. While this model was covered earlier, his all-chrome finish might make his the most recognizable of all. He also owns a Rolls Royce.
As much as this family loves Ferraris, maybe the most popular car within the clan is the Range Rover, an absolutely essential SUV that totally deserves to be included in this article, alongside the aforementioned Escalade and Mercedes G-Wagon, one of which the Kardashians also claim. The family’s Range Rover owners include Kim, who has several, Kendall, Kanye, ex Kris Humphries, and maybe ever other members at one point or another. They cost around $87 thousand but can have a much higher price tag depending on the features and additions.
Porsche GT3 RS
And finally, the last car covered here will bring us pretty much full circle back to one of the first. Caitlyn Jenner’s custom Porsche GT3 RS cost around $176 thousand. The purple paint job definitely makes it stand out. The model stems from the classic 911 and was primarily intended for racing, although it has been produced for civilians, as well.
